This Privacy Policy describes how Orange Parse ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and stores information when you use the Orange Parse Discord bot (the "Bot") or visit our website at https://orangeparse.com (the "Site"). Orange Parse is an alpha-stage tool that turns SimulationCraft character exports into simulation-backed gear recommendations inside Discord.
1. The Short Version
- The Bot processes the messages you send it and the SimulationCraft exports you share with it. That is the product.
- Your session and character profile expire automatically after 30 days of inactivity. Simulation results are kept for about 36 hours.
- Send /reset to the Bot at any time to delete your session and profile immediately.
- The Site is a static page. It has no accounts, no contact forms, no newsletters, and sets no cookies.
- We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising.
2. Information We Process When You Use the Bot
2.1 Discord Identifiers
When you interact with the Bot we receive standard Discord data: your Discord user id and username, the channel id of the conversation, message ids, and, where the Bot is used in a server, the server (guild) id. During the alpha we also check your membership and roles in our support Discord server to confirm you have alpha access.
2.2 Messages and Conversation History
The Bot is conversational. The content of the direct messages and commands you send it is processed and stored as part of your session so the Bot can follow the conversation. Do not send the Bot sensitive personal information; it only needs your SimulationCraft export and your questions about gear.
2.3 SimulationCraft Exports
When you paste or attach a SimulationCraft export (a /simc export or .simc file), we process and store the character data it contains: character name, realm, race, class, specialization, talents, equipped gear, and items in your bags and Great Vault. This data describes a game character, but treat the export as something you are comfortable sharing.
2.4 Simulation Jobs and Results
Profiles derived from your export are sent to our simulation workers, which run SimulationCraft and produce numeric results. Jobs, queue records, and results are stored temporarily so the Bot can answer follow-up questions about a completed simulation.
2.5 Operational Logs
We keep structured server logs (including Discord user ids, job ids, error details, and rate-limit events) to operate the service, debug failures, and prevent abuse. Rate limiting is enforced per Discord user.
3. Information We Process When You Visit the Site
The Site is a static website. We do not set cookies, run analytics scripts, or offer accounts, comment systems, or newsletters. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and requested pages) as part of serving the Site and protecting it from abuse.
4. How We Use Information
- To run simulations and answer your questions — the core function of the Bot.
- To maintain your conversation session so follow-up questions work.
- To enforce alpha access, rate limits, and abuse protections.
- To debug failures and improve the service.
- To comply with legal obligations, if any apply.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it to anyone.
5. AI Processing
The Bot uses a third-party large language model (LLM) provider to understand your messages and to write summaries of simulation results. Your messages, a summary of your character profile, and simulation result data are sent to that provider to generate responses. We do not use your conversations to train our own models.
6. Service Providers
We share data only with the infrastructure providers needed to run the service:
- Discord — the messaging platform the Bot runs on (Discord's own privacy policy applies to your use of Discord).
- Our LLM provider — processes message text, profile summaries, and result data to generate the Bot's replies.
- Our hosting providers — run the Bot's servers, simulation workers, and Redis data store, and serve the Site.
These providers process data on our behalf to deliver the service and are not permitted to use it for their own advertising purposes.
7. Data Retention
- Session and profile data (your conversation history and parsed export): deleted automatically after 30 days of inactivity. The timer resets each time you use the Bot.
- Simulation results: kept for about 36 hours so you can ask follow-up questions, then deleted automatically.
- Queue and in-flight job records: kept for hours, not days, and cleaned up automatically.
- Operational logs: kept for a limited period for debugging and abuse prevention, then rotated out.
8. Deleting Your Data
Send /reset to the Bot to immediately delete your session, conversation history, and stored profile. Simulation results expire on their own within about 36 hours. If you want to request deletion of anything else (for example, log entries tied to your Discord user id), contact us at [email protected] from a verifiable channel and we will handle it.
9. Security
Data is stored on access-controlled infrastructure and transmitted over encrypted connections. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, and Orange Parse is alpha software — please do not send it anything you would not want stored on a third-party service.
10. Children
Orange Parse is not intended for anyone under 13 (or the minimum age required by Discord in your country). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used the Bot, contact us at [email protected].
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves — for example, if we add new features or change retention windows. We will update the "Last Updated" date above, and for significant changes we will post a notice in our Discord server.
12. Contact
